Tell Me Your Story

Crafting audio memoirs from interviews to treasured keepsakes

Reviews

Brigid spent hours interviewing my 90-year old parents and generated three sensational recordings – one for each of them individually and one for the two of them together.  The editing, including the accompanying music, was nothing short of spectacular.  We heard many stories we’ve heard before and a number we’d never heard before – including how my grandfather worked as a bodyguard for a notorious gangster in New York!  Thanks to Brigid and her patient, warm, caring demeanor and professionalism, my parents will live on for future generations that will never have a chance to meet them. (Nancy and Alan Epstein)

I am so grateful for Brigid’s interviews with my mother and production of a beautifully edited, one-hour recording. My mother thoroughly enjoyed the storytelling, conversing, and reflecting on her life. (Adair Fox)

My time with Brigid produced a beautiful memory for my family. For me, retelling my life to Brigid and myself led to an honesty, acceptance and perhaps self-love that was surprisingly freeing and delightful. It helped set me up to sail past age 90 on wide wings of gratitude a couple months later. (Jerry Brady)

My mom’s audio memoir perfectly captured her essence in a way that mere words on a page never could. We also learned some details of her amazing life that we’d never heard before. This recording is a treasure we will share with future generations. (Jon Hamilton)

What wonders Brigid McCarthy has wrought for this 89-year old woman, thanks to our collaboration on my audio memoir. Brigid’s real genius was in shaping a compelling narrative from what, as I spoke my thoughts into her mic, sometimes seemed like a word salad. No one but a real musician like Brigid could have found the perfect music to help me tell my story. In the course of the miracle hour I spent listening to the words and music of the completed memoir, I cried. While making the recording, I’d discovered parts of myself I hadn’t known were there. I really like this new me! (Lynne McElvey)

My mom always talked about writing a book about her life. To encourage her to pursue that project, my husband and I, who knew Brigid and her work personally, engaged Brigid to interview my 90 year old mom. We all learned so many unknown tidbits while we laughed and cried listening to her amazing recall of poignant memories. It is a gift to be able to hear her voice over and over again and Brigid’s gentle supportive style made the process very comfortable. (Robin Marguleas)
